Shore FishingUsing a castable fish finder is a great way to figure out what's below the waters' surface. We know catching more fish from shore requires some preparation, and knowing if you should stay is paramount. iBobber is the smallest, most portable fish finder on the market and can be cast and connected at up to 100' away. Map contours of the lake bottom, find fish, foliage, or structure--ledges and holes where your newest PB might be lurking. You can GPS mark spots, laydowns (trees that have fallen), weed beds, drop-offs and other underwater structure where fish might be laying in wait to ambush baitfish. And now you can call them to you, too. |
Dock and Pier FishingFor fishing from docks or piers, iBobber is great addition to your tackle box. Having the advantage over other anglers who don't know where the fish are, or where they might be hiding, can make all the difference. In both salt and freshwater, just cast iBobber and connect to map the waterbed 135ft down, tag fish, and mark your GPS location. With more and better knowledge, you’ll catch more and larger fish every time--or at least learn what you need to improve. Use iBobber's fishfinder feature with the fish alarm on to warn you when fish gather under docks and piers. iBobber can even notify you when fish are biting with the strike alarm. |
Kayak and SUP FishingThe fastest growing segment in the fishing industry is now portable water-craft fishing, and for good reason. Necessary conservation efforts now mean that many great fishing waterways don’t allow powerboats. Fortunately, human-powered crafts are no longer limiting; whether fishing in saltwater for red snapper or sea trout, or freshwater for bass or panfish, the appeal of these crafts is obvious. There’s something primal about getting closer to nature and your targets, and doing battle with a big fish from a small boat. The iBobber makes for a perfect kayak accessory as a fish and depth finder that doesn’t require permanent installation and allows for reach beyond the hull. |
Ice Fishing and Night FishingIf your favorite angler loves ice fishing, consider iBobber a great Christmas / Holiday season gift idea. Even when it's cold out, the recipient will be able to go out and use it immediately to find out if 'there's fishes'. The iBobber and app are ideal tools for ice fishing. It is lightweight, portable, and the fish and bite alarms let you know when fish are around and when they bite. Even when everything is white or you can't see a thing, iBobber lets you use its trip log to save the GPS location of your favorite spots, water temps and depths, and species caught. |

Product Description
iBobber: Love at First Cast.
This pocket-sized fish finder is as mobile as you are! The iBobber is the smallest and lightest personal sonar depth finder on the market. It is a castable, portable, and wireless fish finder that syncs with the free app on your smartphone or tablet up to 100’ away. This thing is really cool!
Engineered with patented sonar technology providing accurate readings of bottom contours, depths, structures, and fish, the iBobber packs a lot of tech into a very small package.
iBobber was designed with portability and ease of use in mind--perfect for hiking, camping, canoeing, kayaking, or other fishing situations where size and weight is at a premium.
The free app syncs via Bluetooth Smart to the iBobber device, and allows you to map waterbeds, mark spots, log water temps and depth, add lures, species, and photos in the trip log. The LED beacon, and strike and fish alarms, are great for ice fishing, carp, and night fishing. The high contrast design increases visibility in bright outdoor lighting, and the app’s anti-glare setting helps you see the screen when you are still having trouble.
The patented fish finder displays fish by size and depth to get you on the lunkers fast. Great for finding smallmouth and largemouth bass, panfish (like crappie and perch), salmon, trout, walleye, pike, muskie and other game fish and edible species within 135’ depth.
The iBobber is the best personal fish finder on the market for fishing from shore and docks, and is ideal for kayak or canoe fishing and for bottom sounding areas not available by boat. It works in both saltwater and freshwater, and is very effective at locating fish and structures on ponds, lakes, streams, and rivers.
iBobber is the ultimate in portable fishing tools. Its perfect for fishing trips, in your RV, on your boat for those tight spots, in your car with your collapsible rod or in your tackle box along with your other critical fishing gear. It’s even a great asset to conservationists looking to log water temp, depth and bottom structures in multiple locations over time.

First and foremost, the accuracy of the fish depth finder is impressive. With a depth range of up to 135 feet, this fish finder provides real-time and reliable information about the water's depths and the presence of fish beneath the surface. This knowledge has significantly enhanced my fishing experience, helping me identify the most promising spots to cast my line and increase my chances of a successful catch.
The wireless connectivity of the Reelsonar Fish Finder is a game-changer. The seamless integration with both iOS and Android apps allows me to monitor the fish finder's readings directly on my smartphone or tablet. This convenience not only keeps me informed about the underwater conditions but also enables me to make informed decisions about adjusting my fishing strategy in real time.
The battery life of over 10 hours is a major advantage, especially during long fishing trips. I appreciate that the device can sustain extended usage without worrying about the battery running out. This longevity is a testament to the device's efficiency and reliability in the field.
The compact and portable design of the Reelsonar Fish Finder is another noteworthy feature. It's incredibly easy to carry and set up, and the device's durability ensures that it can withstand the rigors of outdoor activities. The accompanying mounting hardware and accessories make it convenient to attach the fish finder to various fishing equipment, including kayaks, boats, or even fishing lines.
One aspect that I found particularly valuable is the ability to adjust the sensitivity and settings of the fish finder. This customization allows me to fine-tune the device based on different fishing conditions and target species. Whether I'm fishing in shallow waters or exploring deeper areas, the fish finder's versatility adapts to my needs.
The Reelsonar Fish Finder has undoubtedly enhanced my fishing success and enjoyment. However, it's important to note that while the fish finder provides accurate depth and fish location information, interpreting the data and effectively using it to catch fish still requires some fishing skill and knowledge. The device is a tool that complements fishing expertise, rather than replacing it.
The Reelsonar Portable Fish Finder is a remarkable and user-friendly tool that has elevated my fishing adventures. Its accurate depth readings, wireless connectivity, and long battery life make it a valuable asset for anyone who loves fishing. Whether you're a seasoned angler seeking to improve your catch rate or a beginner looking to gain an edge, this fish finder is an excellent investment. Embrace the power of technology and take your fishing game to the next level with the Reelsonar Fish Finder – a trusted companion for every fishing expedition.

1. Range is weak. I can cast this thing way beyond the range where it stays connected. It seem to have a maximum reliable range of about 40 feet. If I hold the phone up and have a direct line of sight, I still only get about 40 feet. I cast to about 80 feet and reel halfway back before it connects. I tested it with 2 separate phones. I have a Droid Razor HD and a new Droid Turbo. The Turbo seemed to be a little better when I first tired it, but soon it was only working to about 40 feet just like the Razor. it seems that it was a fluke that I got it to connect 1 time at about 60-70 feet. The battery was fully charged and never dropped below 90% during any of testing.
2. It is always 5.2 feet deep. I tested it in 2 small ponds. The depth would likely be about 8-10 feet in the middle to 6 in at the edge. The ibobber always shows 5.2 feet except for a few times when it showed a hole down to about 7 feet. It was clearly not correct when I reeled it to the edge where it was only 6 inches deep. It may not be guaranteed to be accurate at only 6 inches, but it should show the bottom as it comes up.
3. The App is a battery hog. As soon as I loaded it on my phone it began to waste my battery. I don't know what it is sharing or with whom, but it must be doing a lot of it. Without being turned on, it became my biggest user of the battery until I force stopped it.
I just got this and have not gotten a response from Reelsonar yet. We will see how their customer service responds. It may need an update or replacement, but so far I am not impressed. I'll update the review after their response. At this point I would not recommend. I plan to return it if they cannot make it work better than this.
***********************
Update. I added 1 star for the prompt customer service response. They got back to me on a sunday night. I suspect it was Monday their time, but it was prompt. The response said that it only works to a minimum of 5 feet, but those ponds should have been deeper than that. Although due to the short range it may have been that they were only 5 feet deep when it started reading. I will try to test in deeper water next weekend to see if it works better. I cannot be sure how deep the ponds where I tested it were deep enough.
Keep in mind this does make it not very useful until you get to a lake. Small fish ponds, creeks and rivers may not be deep enough to use this at all. It really is only going to work for bank fishing if the water gets deep fast as you go out from the bank. If I can only get 40 feet of range out of it, that is a narrow band of water where it is less than 40 feet from the bank and more than 5 feet deep. I would like to try it with a boat or Kayak. That would likely solve the problem. The product may need to be marketed differently. I hope to test it this week to know if I got a dud. If it still shows 5.2 feet deep where I know it is deeper, I'll be sending it back.
OK I wanted to test it in a deeper lake to find out if it is defective but it failed to hold a charge. I had charged it 1 week earlier and not used it. I took it to a marina where I knew the depth was between 20 and 40 feet to see if it still showed 5.2. Unfortunately it was dead when I tried it so I still don't know if it works. Either way it isn't reliable or usable for what I want.
