Great battery, good price. Arrived in fairly short order for such a heavy item. Had an issue with one that was dropped in shipping and leaking very slowly. Customer service had a replacement out in just a few days. The only thing I wish it has was wing nut terminals instead of bolt on, but that is only because I use them on a pop up camper and like to take them to the garage in between trips. I use 2 of these batteries with a 200 watt solar panel setup I bought so I can run a CPAP machine at night and never even put a dent in them with 1 nights use. I don't even bring the generator or charger as a backup any more as they get fully charged each day even with light use of a 600 watt inverter throughout the day.
So I bought three of these to install in my 88' Hunter 30' sailboat. I hang on a hook A LOT and needed power. The boat originally had a pair of Group 27 Batts and was wired as 1 house and 1 starter. I installed 2 in the OEM location and ran 10g wire to a third under the port side lazzeratte (bank 2 - house). I have 2 - 100w flexible panels laying on the bimini (tied to it though), wired down to a 20a PWM charge controller. The boom slightly shades the second panel half of the day at dock and unless I move the traveler all the time at anchor (damn winds). Replaced all the lights with LED, the 15" TV is LED and the Stereo is a 20w Digital style sold here on Amazon powering (2) 6x9 speakers. Charging both iPads and phones... Basically it's abused lightly. But on occasion, say 3 times now, I'll turn on the 1000w pure sine inverter and run a window A/C 5000btu unit in the companionway off these for about an hour (the Chesapeake Bay gets darn hot) near sunset to cool the cabin down to 70* (forget running it on battery power during the day - you need 2 hours to cool it - shore power works better).
So with Batt1 wired for Starter and the other two for house but at anchor I'll run both banks together and when I leave her for the week so the batterys stay balanced and charged (Solar charger only wired to Bank 2). I have no issues starting the 2GM20F engine and no issues with the batteries running my weekend and sometimes 4 day journeys. I have a match and these batteries out of the box have been great.
The reason I wanted these is my experience with the manufacture and the sealed aspect when charging while I was away on a solar controller. Also since sailboats tend to lean (heel) the water doesn't leak and I don't cause any issues with shorting cells. AGM/GEL on a boat or don't bother. You don't want the hydrogen gas in the cabin (bad for you, and really bad for corrosion) and you don't want battery acid eating your bilge pump impeller.
