Assembly Information
This bike will arrive partially assembled in a large cardboard box and needs to be assembled and tuned prior to riding. Here is a brief general list of what you need to do to complete assembly of any Vilano Bike:
- Install handlebars
- Install saddle
- Install pedals (**the RIGHT pedal is installed clockwise, the LEFT counter clockwise**), use grease
- True the wheels

My husband loves his Vilano Urbana much better than my Schwinn Loop; he has already received several compliments on his bike and has been asked where he bought it from. This bike is considerably lighter and less bulky than my Schwinn Loop; it also folds much easier. However, it doesn't have a rear rack, fenders, nor hand brakes, as I mentioned before. I also bought one of those cushiony covers for the seat, and it definitely feels more comfortable to ride now. We have already ridden the bike quite a few times and taken it to several places. It is awesome!
I ordered this bike on Amazon on Jan 2 and received it Jan 6th 2017. We had a snow storm in the area(Long Island) so I started using it Jan 12th. I got it for my commute as I take a train and my work is a little over a mile from the nearest stop. The bike developed a crack in the frame near the seat post as of Friday January 20th. That means I got only 7 round trip rides on it before the frame started to crack. So 15-20 miles max. I own a Full Suspension XTR equipped Mountain Bike and a Carbon Fiber road bike and have thousands and thousands of miles on those bikes. I had many bikes before those and never an issue. The bike seems sturdy so I'm shocked. Maybe they went to thin on the seat post area. Pics are attached. I really do like the bike in design, folding ability and simplicity maybe I just got a random factory defect. I'm going to exchange this one and write an updated post after that in hopes that I just got a random lemon and the line itself is good but as I right now stay away. You can see the crack and the seat post sleeve also was coming in which it should not do. I actually can't get the sleeve back in without a tool. I will keep riding the bike with no seat until I can get this situation fixed but that however is very uncomfortable.
