    Solid rack
So I have been searching for a kayak rack specifically for a 2008 2 door scion TC. It was rather frustrating. I typed in my car info and this came up as a "fit" for my vehicle specs. I placed the order and received it and put it together. Later I discovered that apparently in the instructions that it says it was not suitable for 2 door cars. 😒 I did however manage to install it anyway with the 24 inch minimum distance required because quite honestly I felt very defeated at this point and no f’s were given. The auctions are very solid however my problem with it is that the straps go only so far, so it’s not hugging the inside roof as much as I would like. It sorta impairs my vision and sits a few inches below my visor. To combat this, I attached adhesive Velcro strips to the straps. (Adhesive side onto the straps) I managed to get it to stick to my roof top. The rear one hangs a lot lower and I haven’t gotten a chance to remedy this problem yet with the Velcro. The straps themselves are really solid; I pulled and tugged on them so they aren’t going anywhere. I don’t think they are in the buckle thing wrong. It appears that the rack isn’t going anywhere later. I test drove the car to ensure that they weren’t gonna pop off. I traveled at about 65 MPH. Rack and straps still solid. So Idk, I think that this will work out. The rack I got was a 50 inch of you were wondering. If you are transporting a kayak I would highly recommend getting the bow and stern tie downs in addition to the kayak tie down or some kind of ratchet straps. I like to be extra safe and will probably put a ratchet strap inside the car that intersects the front and rear straps. Over all solid construction. Will it work for a 2dr? It appears so. I would measure out the 24 min distance to make sure though. Hope this was helpful.
