Product Description
How Does It Self Inflate?
The Sleeping Pads have a special open-cell foam inside which starts inflating as soon as you open the valve. Please Note: The cells only inflate enough to provide insulation, if you want a full firm pad you will need to blow a couple of breaths into the valve. Remember to close the valve when you reach your desired pad firmness.
How to use:
- Unfurl the sleeping pad and open the self-inflating valve.
- You will hear and feel the mat starting to inflate, depending how tightly it was packed, this can take some time.
- If you are looking for just the insulation then you can leave the pad as is, ready to go.
- If you want a firmer, fuller pad you can blow a couple of deep breathes into the valve.
- When the pad has reached your desired firmness close the valve, by twisting clockwise.

The pillow was not really a factor in my purchase and I was wary but brought it in lieu of an actual pillow because I was trying to cut down on the bulk. It's a decent size and I don't really have any complaints. I would use it again to save space.
The pad itself can be a little bulky but if you're not backpacking this shouldn't be a problem. It's far easier to set up and pack away than an air mattress, so much so that I feel it's superior, especially in comfort and warmth. The bags that house the pad and pillow are also very generous so you're not struggling to stuff in everything. I think the addition of a strap on the bag would make carrying easier. Overall I am very happy with the insulation and comfort of the pad and the pillow is a nice extra. I will try it out again in colder temperatures to see how it holds up.

By our rating, 2nd out of 5 (Good value with the pillow, buttons is a great feature and plenty long for tall people)
Ryno Tuff Sleeping Pad was the MOST expensive of the 5 pads, but it is also one of the lightest, with a good R-value, good weight rating, good size (widest) and includes great features many of the others didn't (pillow, buttons, repair kit) making this the best overall value. The only time I would not recommend this pad set is if you need a great pillow or for backpack camping since it is quite large when in the bag compared to the others.

Top reviews from other countries
Took around 10 breaths to fully inflate. Barely enough to get dizzy. Inflated most of the way (I like a little bit of squish), it gets you about 2" off the ground, which is enough to sleep on my side comfortably.
I doubt this would be very good at insulating during cold weather, but for 3 seasons it is perfect.
The only issue is that the fill valve let's some air out while blowing up, so I had to block it with my lips while inhaling. Not a huge deal since it takes so few breaths to fill.
The mattress is exactly the same length as my bed at home's double mattress. I'm 6'3 and I fit on it perfectly.
The included pillow is amazing. Blows up fast, is nice and comfy (feels soft and slightly fuzzy, not like plastic), and folds up crazy small. Smaller than a pair of ankle socks. Seriously.
If you're looking for the patch, it's the tag thing that's attached to the inside of the bag!
