Reticle Focus Adjustment

Your riflescope uses a fast focus eyepiece designed to quickly and easily adjust the focus on the riflescope’s reticle.

1. Look through the riflescope at a blank white wall or at the sky.

2. Turn focus knob fully outward (counterclockwise).

3. Slowly turn the eyepiece focus knob inward until the reticle image is as crisp as possible.

Turret Adjustments

Your riflescope features adjustable elevation and windage turret dials with audible and tactile clicks. Each click moves the point of impact 1/2 MOA.

1. Remove the turret caps.

2. Following the directional arrows, turn the dials in the direction you wish the bullet’s point of impact to go.

3. When finished adjusting, replace the turret caps.

Indexing the Turrets

Strike Eagles feature Elevation and Windage Turrets that allow you to re-index the zero indicator after sight-in without disturbing your zero setting.

1. After completing the final sight-in, remove the turret cap(s).

2. Without rotating the turret, twist the turret dial to reposition it with the “0” mark aligned with “Up” on the scope housing.

3. Replace the turret cap(s).

Great, clear scope, the rear flip cap is crap, and the Vortex specified throw lever I ordered doesn't fit.
4 Stars
Great, clear scope, the rear flip cap is crap, and the Vortex specified throw lever I ordered doesn't fit.
Overall my review is very positive--this is an amazing scope (even if it was $ 599), but I need to point out the two dumb issues I experienced because you might also deal with them.If the product had a solid, reliable rear flip cap cover, and the throw lever had fit as Vortex specified it would for this model--this would be a five-star review because the scope is worth WAY more than the $ 279 I paid for it.If you've enjoyed Trijicon ACOG then you know how clear and excellent glass can be--this is close. I'd say the Vortex Strike Eagle has 70% to 80% of the ACOG's clarity. Based on that alone, and a .5.56 ACOG running $ 1,600, this excellent Vortex Strike Eagle should be triple its price. If you can afford to run an ACOG why are you reading this? Get an ACOG. If you cannot afford an ACOG--absolutely buy this Vortex Strike Eagle 1-6 scope (and pick up another flip cap cover, and do buy the throw lever). The rear flip cap self-destructs on its own (even if you protect your rifle as I do).The flip cap, and impossible to find pin and spring, fly off whenever they feel like it, leaving you to spend your day on the ground or range floor trying to find the pin and spring instead of shooting. This is the only weak design element on this scope. I finally lost the spring so I now take the entire cap assembly on and off, with the flip cap glued in place. The above product description says that the tube is 30mm, however, when you go to any website to order the cap it only comes in 32mm--so I'm going to try and replace it with yet another poorly designed Vortex flip cap cover ($ 19.99). And, the tube front may be 30mm, but the rear portion is much larger. I do know it is not 44mm, as I went to the Vortex site to learn the correct Vortex brand throw lever to buy here on Amazon, and I did--but when it came it didn't fit (Vortex Switchview SV-4 Throw Lever (1.72 inches / 44 mm). So, at least on the one shipped to me--the rear, zoom rotating tube portion is *NOT* 44mm.You WILL want to buy the throw lever as it isn't easy, nor convenient to rotate the zoom.I guess I need to buy calipers and find the true dimensions and then order the throw lever and crap replacement flip cap. Silly. Totally silly. My AR-15 as pictured is a CORE 15 Scout, Keymod rifle (veteran built). I added DD Daniel Defense furniture (comfort, quality, and looks), added a QD Quick Detach mount to the back of the lower receiver, and under the front rail, both of which complement the built-in QD on the DD stock. I use a very nice Magpul MS4 Gen 2 Multi-Mission Single Point / 2 Point Sling which gives you more slung options than you need and works great as a two-point sling adjusted tight, end-to-end on the rifle for superb stability (almost like a bench rest) when you need a very stable firing platform. For convenience, I added a DDC Devil Dog Concepts Hard Charger Tactical Side Charger for much easier charging while keeping the rifle where it should be at eye level. Another convenience is the Troy Ambidextrous Bolt Release--all AR-15's should have a bolt release on the right side, above the mag release, the way POF-USA and LWRC AR-15s do. If you got the bucks always buy the top end POF-USA and LWRC AR Rifles. Incredible quality and aerospace tolerances. Finally, I topped it all off with an excellent Vortex Strike Eagle 1-6x 24mm scope. I'm going to add either a Viper or Venom RMR top-mounted to the rear scope ring so I can have a low-profile quick glance QCB view, similar to the way Trijicon sets up RMRs on top of ACOGs. Final note: I adjusted and tested again and again and discovered that when you go end to end with the sling, adjusted so you can quickly tighten it across your back and weak side arm, and push your fore-grip all the way out to the end of the front rail, you get really, really good off-hand stability because your extended arm, and the tight sling across the arm and your back, create a triangle type leverage effect that you just cannot get unless you've got a tree, rock, backpack or bench to support your firing platform.

Ok so I wanted the 1x6 but it was sold out. So I'm having to spend an extra 100 dollars. Dobi regret it would I go back and buy the 1x6 instead? No reason I out this on 8x and put my target all the way to the end of the indoor range. So I have a 3x9x40 and if it was slightly more powerful I'd hit the target 30 out of 30. So when I put on this which is 1xless power I thought well it's Vortex maybe it will be ok more then ok I hit the black on target 30 of 30. Most guys out there do say 1x6 is better better eyebox. I tested using my off eye hit 20 of 20 of reloads! it's a really lighter then tbe 1x6 also. It also has a regrow lever. OP mod us cool with tbe 1x6 but they are sold out so do I feel left out it ripped off. Not at all I love this optic it is clean crisp all the way up to 8x and I seen videos showing how after 6 its garbage power blurry. Maybe it is but you know what I'll take that then limited to 6. So I can stop at 6 and gave amazing quality but I do go to 7x and you know what I dont see anything bad about those 2 extra powers I hit my targets very well. Also I heard about Primary Arms being better. Well possible the design of the horseshoe vs the Chevron and the 3g box is better but I can see thjs out lines the round nksck target better and it's not too much going on at all. Infact lower it to a 4 and it's just a crimson outline. VORTEX is known great valued optics. Period Orimary Arms is t on that list if top 10 purchased reliable optics. I think most law enforcement and military persons would pick it over Primary Arms. Both made in China but it's ran like an American Company great customer service wrote me a check and took back a bad product. My life depends on it I'm choosing the Vortex. On my Spr I have 2 Vortex but the struke Eagle is there because most things I shoot are under 100 yards. The other is a Diamondback Tactical 6x24 and it is amazing for like 200 yard shots I know that you can take 1000 yard shots with it. But I'm running 62 grain 556 so I'm taking no more then 100yards 77 grain I'd attempt a longer shot and obviously you would need a stronger scope but it's true 1 power that does not grow. it's perfect and my sig xdr predator is on my sbr. And I wish that thjs strike Eagle was green like that is. If it was green like it br better then pretty much any short distance scope. Also I understand 400 is alot and most would choose tbe 1x6 but if you are used to 3x9 then go with this because it's pretty much the same
